Brian Moylan is the president and founder of the completely fictitious Real Housewives Institute. (Not only is he the president, he’s also a member.) His book The Housewives: The Real Story of the Real Housewives comes out May 25th from Flatiron Books. (Which is Oprah’s publisher, so you know it’s good!)

He started writing about the Real Housewives in 2011, about a decade after he started his journalism career under the tutelage of some very patient lesbians at The Washington Blade. His recaps for numerous franchises have been on New York magazine’s culture website Vulture since what seems like the dawn of time. He is also the co-author of Erika Jayne’s best-selling memoire Pretty Mess.

His work has also appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, Vice, Gawker, Interview Magazine, Time, W, Men’s Health, and at least one pornographic website. Every publication he worked for full time, bar one, has since closed down which says something about either his work or the sad state of media today.

He lives in London with his husband and is his mother’s second favorite son.
